Big Night In – Season 2

As the initial lockdown in the UK had eased, the Big Night In stopped for 8 weeks whilst Mike Peters went into the studio to record a new COLOURSØUND album and also work on other projects in the studio. On Saturday 5th September 2020 it returned for a new season. As the restrictions in Wales eased a little it meant that the opportunity to present it in a new way using extra equipment they could now collect to help improve the quality of the first one

So once again every Saturday night Mike Peters, and Jules Jones Peters have broadcast from their front room, with Mike to playing acoustically live from the Jukebox Stage for live for broadcast plus a mix of archive and new video presentations.


Season 2 Episode 1 – 5th September 2020 – Running length : 1 hour 22 minutes

Videos : Lockdown Story in 3 parts, covering the events in July after the end of season 1 when Mike was given news about changes in his white count and Leukemia treatment changes. Behind the scenes of arranging Mike’s first solo socially distanced concert to be held at Lowther Pavilion Lytham St Annes, including a visit to the venue on 27th August 2020 by Mike and Jules with Mike performing part of Right Back Where I Started From on the venue stage. Season 2 Special Presentation – 12th/13th September 2020 – Running length : 50 minutes
This was a special Big Night In presentation for the Music Is Art event put together and broadcast in the USA as part of a 6 hours virtual festival event. The Big Night In segment was broadcast on the Friends of MIA stream at 11pm USA time, 4am UK time. The presentation included a mix of acoustic music, video and chat between Mike and Jules Jones Peters. Chat included coverage of the original USA U2 War tour in 1983 and The Alarm establishing themselves in the USA. Experience of Buffalo, USA gigs, Willie Nile and the story of One Guitar and Rocking In The Free World. The Jack Tars and Coloursound coverage. Thoughts on the return to The Alarm live arena post lockdown.
