No Frontiers – (Song)

No Frontiers was originally entitled New Frontier when it was first recorded in a demo studio in the East Los Angeles by Mike Peters and Eddie Macdonald in August 1988. This while the band were on tour with Bob Dylan and were booked to play 3 nights at the Greek Hotel in the Hollywood Hills. Mike and Eddie had been writing new songs and working on new ideas and took the opportunity to record ending up with a 16 track acoustic demo-tape. In October/November 1988 the band returned to North Wales where they worked on new songs for upcoming album, during this phase the song evolved to become No Frontiers as the band worked on it together. The final recorded version No Frontiers appeared on the Change album released on 18th September 1989. the two earlier versions surfaced on a Change Demos CD that appeared in 1998, initially this was a bootleg and then was made available through the MPO

Lyrics – Change album

A thousand miles before us
Long is the road
The mountain high
And the valley low
Our love is stronger than we know

In the tears of a river
I see the wrong
Hear the mountain cry
Cry anger
Feel the pain in the valley below

I want to run
Where the sunlight beats on my face
I want to feel
The wind in my hair

There are no frontiers
That we can’t cross tonight
There are no borderlines
To keep us apart
There are no frontiers

I am devoted to you
Like the sea to the shore
Like the tree to the forest
I can’t live without you
A river can’t live without water

I want to run
Where the sunlight beats on my face
I want to feel
The wind in my hair

There are no frontiers
That we can’t cross tonight
There are no borderlines
To keep us apart
There are no frontiers
That we can’t cross oh oh oh

There are no frontiers
That we can’t cross tonight
There are no borderlines
To keep us apart
There are no frontiers
That we can’t cross tonight
There are no borderlines
To keep us apart
No, no, no
There are no frontiers
There are no frontiers
To keep us apart
There are no frontiers
